Festivals & Events 2008 |
|
2004 saw our 23rd AND FINAL annual Waterways Tour travelling by rivers and canals in our narrow boat, The Angry Bull and performing our plays at waterside pubs and at waterways festivals and events. Since then we have concentrated on developing our rural community tours and our theatre in education projects. However, as in the last 4 years we will again in 2008 have a special compilation show of extracts of scenes and music from some of our past plays at a few waterways festivals and events. This is a bit of a change from seeing a complete Day-Star play and the emphasis will be on the comedy and music. This year’s offering is called Ripples & Waves. It is often said that the smallest of happenings can eventually lead to the most earth shattering of events and in some way or another that is the theme of this collection of scenes and songs from our past shows. Characters include 2 elderly in-laws who have unexpectedly been left in charge of their son and daughter’s boatyard (and they have hated each other ever since the wedding), A disillusioned dairy farmer and his wife whose early ambitions have been lost, their moonstruck neighbour who lives by the canal, makes’ moonshine’ and wanted to be the first woman on the moon and an overbearing boater whose long suffering wife finally gets her revenge! .....and you can see the show at ..........
